Most things work without special treatment.
Updating the BIOS seems to require Windows.
The Elan touchpad gained upstream support in 4.3 and some distros have backported to earlier kernels. Ubuntu 15.10's 4.2 kernel now supports it for example. Older kernels are easily patched:
There are various sensors that should be usable for controlling screen orientation, brightness and so on.
Good if you want to use it as a laptop, less so as a tablet.
