This is a guide to running Linux with the Dell Inspiron 7447 laptop. It is based on my experience with a dual boot install of Ubuntu Trusty Mate (14.04) LTS.

Dual boot with windows. Hardware spec slightly different to http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201406-15256/
Overall is good. Dota 2 got ~30 fps with full resolution and lowest performance setting.
